An extensive vegetarian menu of familiar Burmese cuisine, with traditional decor to match.
We ordered quite a variety of dishes here, and it was an interesting experience overall. Samosa Soup: This sounded very unique and turned out to be surprisingly good in taste. Potato Wao: Full of flavors and on the spicier side, but the addition of crushed peanuts really elevated the taste. Dumplings: The dumplings themselves were just okay, but the papaya dip served alongside was very flavorful and stood out. Crunchy Shiitake Mushroom Fingers: This was disappointing. They lacked flavor and were coated with too much rava, which made them feel bland. Burmese Fried Rice: Average at best, it tasted more like Karnataka’s chitranna (lemon rice) rather than an authentic Burmese fried rice. Berry Matcha Bubble Tea: The berry flavor was nice when mixed in, but the matcha itself wasn’t to my liking. Chocolate Bubble Tea: Average, nothing very impressive. Apple & Hazelnut Crumble Dessert: This was definitely a highlight. It was very tasty and a nice way to end the meal. In terms of experience: Waiting time: This was the biggest downside. We had to wait almost an hour before getting a table, which felt too long. Ambience: Very good, with a nice vibe that makes the place appealing to spend time in. Service: Good. The staff was attentive and, once seated, the food was served fairly quickly. Overall: The place has an interesting menu with some unique items worth trying, though not everything lives up to expectations. A few dishes were flavorful and stood out, while others were average. The ambience and service are positives, but the long waiting time can be a drawback
We had dinner at Burma Burma at their Indiranagar location with our Aunt and Uncle who are regulars at this restaurant. We were a party of 6 and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The taste of dishes was bold and had an almost umami presence - so many dishes brought an explosion of flavors in the mouth. From the cool and unique Smoked Guava drink, to the Bobas, to the Samosa Soup and amazing crispy lotus stem to the Raw Mango Salad we enjoyed it all! We were quite full with the drinks and appetizers already but still ordered their signature dish ‘Burma Burma Oh No Khowsuey’ and it did not disappoint- wonderful dish and a must order! We also ordwr the Burmese fried rice for my daughter with food restrictions and they carefully crafted the dish to satisfaction. The desserts were beautifully crafted and out of the few we ordered the ’Pineapple & Coconut crème brûlée’ was delicious. The ambience was inviting and vibrant with so many Burmese artifacts to stare at and adore. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try food the surprises all yhe senses. The two negatives not for food or ambience were the fact that they do not take reservations and that they have a single ‘gender neutral bathroom’ with long waits and extremely uncared for.
Burma Burma restaurant serves Veg food and it is one of the best in Bengaluru. I got my Oh No Tamarind drink which was soothing to my soul. After that we ordered Samuza Hincho which was Samosa Soup and it was good. After that we ordered Raw Mango Salad and it tasted decent. After that we ordered Pan Fried Rice Dumplings which was a bomb. After that we ordered the star dish of the afternoon, Burma Burma Oh No Khowsuey, this dish was so good with udon noodles. After that we ordered Split Gill Mushroom Fried Rice which had a good taste. My experience at Burma Burma was excellent!!! Thank you Burma Burma!!! 😀
